Kitty Desk Companion

So many accessories!

This little cat was a special project for my sister. I needed something to get me out of my creative slump, and she needed something for her desk at work!

Kyo, my sister’s companion.

So I set out on a journey to make a cute little effigy of her little cat that could keep her company at work. Kyo is a muted, or “pastel” tortoiseshell kitty, and I wanted to do her coloring justice.

Nailed it!

I blended light gray with a pretty beige/gold color to mimic Kyo’s coloring. And of course, added the green to her eyes.

Then it was accessory time! I bought some tiny 5mm magnets to use to help the hats stay in place. And Bobby pins to secure her wings!

I wrote these patterns down as I was making them. So after some product development and testing, I should have a digital pattern ready to sell to make this for yourself!

Ginger Kitty!!

In loving memory of Bob

My first pet ever was a red tabby cat named Bob. I got him when I was 3 years old and had him for 14 wonderful years.

As a child, I moved around a bit because my dad was in the military. I didn’t make friends easily because I’m admittedly socially awkward, though I’ve grown out of it a bit….

ANYWAY… so Bob went with us everywhere we moved and was my constant in a world full of change. He was the best cat and loved to play fetch and curl up to sleep at night by my head with his nose in my ear.

He was the inspiration for this tabby cat with the happy curved tail.

He was the best cat I ever had.

Kissy Fishes

Smoochy smooch!

They remind me of Disney characters, they are just so cute and colorful!

They are the perfect gift for the angler in your life, or for the fishy enthusiast. I added a long cord to hang them with so they can go on anything from a Christmas tree to a rear view mirror in the car.

I chose the color palette for these based on who I was making them for. She is bright and lovely, and his favorite color is blue.

I was also very proud of how cute their faces turned out!

After I finished them, I thought how neat it would have been to put a couple of little round magnets in the mouth end of them while they were being constructed so that they could actually kiss! I’ll have to remember that next time!

As for the pattern, the link is found here and has a very helpful picture tutorial as well!

Happy Crocheting!
